Little & Local Legends

Our Little & Local Legends is a shorter duration shared charter. Keeping local to Port Phillip Bay, this charter is designed for families, beginners, or anyone who just wants a quick local escape. A great trip to introduce the kids to fishing in a safe, fun environment! We use simple, easy-to-handle gear, keep things at a relaxed pace, and focus on making the day enjoyable for everyone.

Book the Boat is a private charter that gives you the boat, the skipper, and the freedom to design your day your way. Stay inside Port Phillip Bay for a relaxed outing, or venture offshore into Bass Strait for something more adventurous – the choice is yours. Perfect for families, mates’ days out, or small groups wanting exclusive use, our custom charters are tailored to suit your style of fishing and pace of day, with the crew there to guide and support.
Bonus! – Use of BBQ provided for all private charters.

Salt & Serenity

Our friendly crew is ready to make your experience enjoyable and memorable.

Yes! We provide all the necessary fishing equipment, including rods, reels, and bait. Just bring your enthusiasm to catch some fish!
Cancellations made less than 7 days in advance forfeit a refund but can be transferred to another date. If the weather conditions aren’t safe and we cancel, we’ll gladly refund or reschedule your trip.

Our charters are licensed for up to 30 people in Port Phillip Bay and 20 people in Bass Strait.
Fishing charters comfortably accommodate up to 16 people with rods out at one time, making it perfect for family outings or a day with friends!
Non-fishing cruises comfortably accommodate 20 people for enough room to move around socialise.
Your safety is our top priority. If the weather conditions aren’t suitable for a safe experience, we will reschedule your charter or provide a refund. We always have an eye on the weather. Rest assured, we will keep you updated on any changes.
Absolutely! Safety is our top priority. We provide life jackets for all passengers to ensure a safe experience on the water.
Our charters are family-friendly! We welcome all ages, but children must be accompanied and supervised by an adult.

Bass Strait Fishing Charters is not responsible for obtaining your fishing licence. If you plan on casting a rod, you will need to obtain a fishing license. 3 day passes start at $10 and are issued via the Service Victoria website. Please make sure you have a valid fishing licence that covers you for the date of your charter. If you’re found without a current licence, officers can issue you an infringement notice. In extreme cases, you can be charged.
Conditions and seasons dictate what’s on the bite.
Snapper, Whiting, Flathead, Squid, Gummies, Salmon & Reef fish are popular catches.
Specialised trips in summer for Kingfish and Tuna can be arranged upon request and conditions permitting.
