Shared Charters require a minimum of 10 people to proceed. Payment is required in full at time of booking via this website.
Private Charters require a minimum of 12 people to proceed. A deposit of 30% is required upon booking.
Shared Cruises require a minimum of 10 people to proceed. A deposit of 50% is required upon booking.

Norden II is a 42′ Randall MK II. Surveyed for 20 people in Bass Strait and 30 people in Port Phillip Bay.
Fishing Charters comfortably accommodate 16 people fishing at one time.
- Non-fishing cruises comfortably accommodate 20 people for enough room to move around socialise.
Charters may be rescheduled or cancelled due to weather at anytime, unforeseen circumstances or low numbers (fewer than 10 passengers).
The Captain’s call on weather is final.If conditions aren’t safe, we’ll reschedule or refund.
If it’s deemed safe and you choose not to come, no refund will be given.Need to move your booking? Please give us at least 7 days’ notice.
Cancellations within 7 days of your trip incur a 30% fee.
Gift vouchers can be rescheduled but aren’t refundable.
Please arrive 15 minutes early – we depart right on time. Allow additional time to find parking. During peak seasons parking is limited.
For consideration of our Combined charter passengers, if you’re late, we can’t wait – no refunds.
Adults aged 18–69 (without a concession) will need a Victorian recreational fishing licence – it only takes a few minutes to grab one online from Service Victoria.
You don’t need a fishing licence if you’re:
- under 18 years or over 70 years
- a person identifying as Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander
- a Victorian or interstate equivalent Seniors Card holder
- a Veterans Card — Victoria holder
- a Veterans’ Affairs Pensioner or TPI-coded Repatriation Health Card holder
- a Commonwealth Pensioner Concession Card holder, coded either DSP, DSP Blind, AGE, AGE Blind or CAR

If a passenger attempts to board the boat and the skipper deems them already intoxicated, they will refused entry.
Drunken or unsafe behaviour may result in your trip ending early, without a refund.
No alcohol for anyone under 18. Adults are responsible for supervising minors.
Bass Strait Charters accepts no liability for any incidents involving underage drinking.
- With the exception of wine served in plastic glasses, no glass on the boat. Beer/Mixes in cans are permitted. No clear/neat spirits.
We supply quality rods and reels for all guests.
Please handle them carefully – any lost or broken gear incurs a $200 replacement fee.
Bass Strait Charters is fully insured and licensed, but please remember all fishing involves some risk.

Bass Strait Fishing Charters is not responsible for obtaining your fishing licence. If you plan on casting a rod, you will need to obtain a fishing license. 3 day passes start at $10 and are issued via the Service Victoria website. Please make sure you have a valid fishing licence that covers you for the date of your charter. If you’re found without a current licence, officers can issue you an infringement notice. In extreme cases, you can be charged.
